Report:  Perine is one of the better backs in that state of Texas for 2014 (#6 in the LSR).  He tore both his MCL and ACL as a sophomore, but had a nice bounce back year as a junior.  In 2012, he rushed for over 2,000 yards and 16 TDs on his way to being named the district MVP and second team all-state.

Perine's sturdiness at 6'0/215 in addition to his lower body strength makes him a great between-the-tackles runner.  He is just that in high school, using his strength and build to break many tackles.  While he lacks great overall speed, he still possesses great initial burst when heading into the holes.  Also, he'll probably regain some of the speed he lost from his injuries as a sophomore.  He will definitely be a bruiser in Norman and might end up as a fullback.
