So who did Texas land today you ask? The answer is 3-star DB Jermaine Roberts from New Orleans. Besides Texas, Roberts had offers from some other elite programs including Michigan, Alabama, Florida State, and others. 247Sports has Roberts as a four-star prospect, but the others give him three. While Texas now has 14 commitments, Roberts is the first that will play in the secondary. Roberts is undersized at 5'9/175, but still is one of the top DBs in Louisiana which is full of talent this year. The fact that the Horns went out of state to pick up a corner with the state of Texas being loaded with great DBs this cycle is a little surprising. Still, Roberts will likely end up being a top cornerback signing in the Big 12 next February.
