Dallas Elite 11 and NFTC: Big 12 Recap

nike-football-training-camps

Below is just a quick recap of both the NFTC and Elite 11 qualifiers that happened over the weekend in Dallas.  I wasn't there and I'm just going off of reports.  Also, there are a ton of other prospects not mentioned, but I just went with more of the well-known ones.

NFTC

OL Demetrius Knox (Fort Worth, TX):  The Texas commit had "no problem taking multiple reps against the best defensive linemen in camp"according to 247Sports.

DL Solomon Thomas (Coppell, TX):  Thomas was the defensive line MVP and also earned an invitation to The Opening.  All the talk about Thomas on Sunday was about how much better he looked physically and the possibility that he may stay at DE in college.  The 5-star prospect is favoring Texas right now but also has "warm" interest in Oklahoma.

CB Tony Brown (Beaumont, TX):  Brown began the day by running a sub 4.4 40, not bad.  He also was the DB MVP and as expected, also was awarded an invitation to The Opening.  Here is a video of him going one-on-one with KD Cannon.  Here's a quick video of Brown going up against KD Cannon and winning.

S Jamal Adams (Carrollton, TX):  Adams will also be attending The Opening after a solid performance Sunday.  A performance so well, that InsideTexas.com stated that "so, for now, Adams is my number one DB in the state and Brown is number two."  Oklahoma and Texas are both in the lead for Adams.

KD Cannon (Mount Pleasant, TX):  The talk around Cannon was him reppin' Baylor with his apparel.  Although Baylor seems to be the favorite, I read somewhere else about others believing Tech still has a good chance.

Elite 11

Jerrod Heard (Denton, TX):  The Texas commit had an "up-and-down day" according to 247's Brian Perroni, but "still showed why he is a Top247 recruit".  Other reports also mentioned "tough moments for Heard on the day."  Scott Kennedy of Scout.com listed Heard as his 3rd-best performer on Saturday.

Foster Sawyer (Fort Worth, TX):  Sawyer's strength was apparent as Eberts noted that "Sawyer looks noticeably stronger" and also mentioned the consistency on his deep balls. Sawyer has "warm" interest in Alabama, TCU, and lastly Oklahoma State who Brian Perroni tweeted that he expects Sawyer to commit to.

David Cornwell (Norman, OK):  Norman lived up to his 5-star hype over the weekend.  He won the QB MVP and also was awarded the first invitation to the Elite 11.  However, according to his 247Sports profile, he doesn't have much interest in any Big 12 school.
